Jonathan Nkungu
Founder & CEO at EEDS
We are living in a challenging world faced with various problems which create an impact on human life and other living organisms. The long-standing natural world is there to continue providing the essential needs of living organisms on the earth.
As the global population grows, the needs of the population grows too, which hinders the proper utilisation of natural resources. The impact of human activities increases the depletion of natural species in the environment. We need courage, passion and commitment to bring innovative and impactful changes within society to ensure a global community with a healthy environment and sufficient, quality water.
When I was at university, I was thinking on the best way for me to help my community, collaborating together, sharing knowledge and skills to bring sustainable development within the society while conserving the environment. So I decided to found a non-profit organization called EEDS which focuses on environmental conservation initiatives, running projects in the community aiming to provide a greater understanding about environmental conservation. At EEDS we believe that caring for the environment is critical for future generations and we want to develop a spirit of environmental protection within the community.
My long term vision is to see EEDS organization growing well and scaling up its project activities across Tanzania – reaching millions of people to continue building a generosity-generation that cares and values conservation of the environment for current and future generations.
I am writing to you all, I am deeply passionate to say, the health of our environment is in our hands and the impact on it does not pick and choose – all of us will feel it. For the time being we are living on the earth, it is our time to continue building the notion of conserving the environment. For every tree you plant today builds a legacy for other people to follow. Join me today in order to build a healthier society through a healthy environment.
