​Matthew Hopgood

Matthew Hopgood is a Chemical Engineer with a Masters degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Cambridge. In 2014, he joined Cambridge Development Initiative’s Engineering project in Tanzania as a volunteer alongside EEDS founder and executive director, Jonathan Nkungu. During this 2 month project Matt specialised in the installation of a biogas device which produced renewable fuel for cooking. In 2015, Matt went on to be the Cambridge Development Initiative UK director, leading the organisation alongside Jonathan. Matt has a passion for international development, especially in the areas of WASH and environmental engineering.


Michael Coto

Michael Coto is a PhD student at the University of Cambridge specialising in photocatalytic composites for pollution alleviation. He is also co founder of a Cambridge based start-up company CamSES, working to commercialise novel photocatalytic nanocomposites. Mike is passionate about international development, outreach & education.
